5-WIRE ANALOGUE RESISTIVE

o A 5-wire resistive touch panel consists of two electrically conductive and transparent elements. The bottom layer is a glass panel with a uniform resistive coating and the top layer is a thick polyester film, also coated on its underside with Indium Tin Oxide. Separation of the two layers is achieved by using a matrix of transparent insulating dots.

o 5-wire resistive touch panels offer significant benefits in applications that are subject to heavy usage in varied temperature, harsh environments. By using the stable bottom substrate for both the X and Y axis measurements they provide high levels of durability and life expectancy. The flexible top layer, which is exposed to the environment, acts only as a voltage measurement probe and this means that the touch panel can contine to function properly even when it is damaged. Other benefits resulting from this type of construction include excellent positional accuracy, together with drift free and high speed operation.

o All our 5-wire resistive touch panels are characterised by excellent linearity throughout, including the regions near their edges, and this is where other manufacturers' inferior products often exhibit significant problems.

o Other standard versions will also be available soon.
